The School Day
Morning
At Ben Rhydding Primary School, the school day starts at 8.45am prompt when children come straight into classrooms where teachers are waiting to welcome them and registration is done.
Lessons begin promptly after registration, at 9.00am and it is important that lessons are not disrupted by late arrivals as children who are late miss important introductions to lessons.
Breaks
Children have a 15 minutes morning playtime from 10.15 – 10.30am and an afternoon break from 2.00pm – 2.15pm.
Lunch
Lunch is from 12noon to 1.00pm.
All children benefit from a variety of dishes, freshly cooked on the premises, as well as vegetarian options, salad bar and fresh fruit (as alternative to puddings). Facilities are available for children bringing packed lunches and they can enjoy their meal in the dinning room with the other children, when school dinners are served.
Assembly
Whole school assemblies are held daily when we reflect on our school values and we encourage children to develop knowledge and understanding of the world around us. We have a weekly celebration assemby on a Friday, when a ‘Learning Hero’ is chosen by the children in their class and we recognise and thank them for demonstrating one or more of our school values.
KS1 & KS2 singing assemblies led by our fantastic music teachers Miss Kelly and Mrs Leach once a week.
Parents are invited to attend class assemblies and different productions throughout the school year.
End of the day
The School Day ends at 3.15pm and children can be collected from the school playground near the classroom.
